Belek Transfer
Belek has been a densely populated area for many years, which has limited biodiversity to species that can adapt to human life and small habitats. It is known that nearly 200 vertebrate species live in this region. Among these species, a list has been made, including 38 mammals, 88 birds, 31 reptiles, 5 amphibians (dual-life creatures), 38 fish, and 51 notable invertebrate species. In the Belek coastal area, animals such as foxes, weasels, squirrels, and hedgehogs are frequently seen. Belek is one of the best locations for birdwatching, with many birds wintering and breeding here. Additionally, rare reptiles such as chameleons, sea turtles, land turtles, and freshwater turtles live freely in Belek’s natural habitats.
Two of the five different sea turtle species living in the Mediterranean—Caretta caretta (the very large Atlantic loggerhead sea turtle) and Chelonia mydas (the green sea turtle)—use 17 beaches along the Antalya coastline as nesting grounds. Belek, Kaş, Manavgat, Tekirova, Çıralı, Olympos, Adrasan, Kumluca, and Kale (Demre) beaches are classified as primary sea turtle nesting areas.
