Manavgat Transfer
The episcopal seat of Manaua, mentioned in the Notitia Dignitatum, was recorded from the 6th century, and the form "Manavğat" in Armenian was seen for the last time in 1199. It remained as an administrative unit during the Ottoman period. The present district center was formed by the merger of the Pazarcı and Düşenbe villages, located on opposite sides of the Manavgat River. The ancient cities of Side (Selimiye Village) and Selge (Altınkaya Village) are believed to have been founded in the 6th century BC. Manavgat came under the control of the Seljuk Empire in 1220 and the Ottoman Empire in 1472. Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat named the city Alaiyye in 1221 after conquering it.
